More End Of The Pop Single Blah Blah Blah
Lots on TV and online today (a BBC article, and a Guardian Online article as well) about the declining sales of singles (whilst albums - especially the cheaper ones - are on the increase again).
Just kill the single off now and be done with it.
And I speak as someone that has rather a lot to do with making a certain type of single, in case anyone reading this doesn't know. However, this isn't an official announcement of anything, should anyone try and read more into this than I mean to say. Hehe.

Noel Edmonds Admits He's Shit
Finally.
Well, OK, he didn't quite say that, but in this interview he does say "I'm guilty as charged for certain things. I don't say that with pride, but I'm not quite so guilty as others." No, dear Noel, I disagree - you are JUST as guilty.
As for his fill-in slot on Radio 2, where he says "I hope it might be the beginning of something..." - let's hope it's the beginning of something very very very short.

My Head Hurts
In fact, all of me hurts. We even feel asleep during the second half of the football - which considering Miss KB is a Man U fan (boo!) and I'm an Arsenal fan (yay!) is quite an achievement really.
My body is not happy with me today. Shame that, because we had a lovely fun night of drinking with lots of lovely friends here running round the flat getting nicely drunk and playing loud music. They even gave me the bumps - I think that's the first time ever. Haha.

Gay Pride 2003
We just watched the procession marking the beginning of Brighton's Pride 2003 by almost dangling out of the my living room window (I live on the main road they use every year for this). Lots of spectacular outfits, silly dancing and very loud music. More importantly lots of people having a good time and walking round with big smiles on their faces on a beautifully sunny day.
Good day for a birthday really (last time I'll mention that I hope)
Took a bunch of nice pictures, will put them up here later on. But first I'll have to stop myself posting lots of shots of a really cute girl that was there...
*slap*

Look, It's My Birthday, OK?
Hence, I might want to stick false nipples onto pictures of Victoria's Secrets models? Well, I'd want to read a web page all about it, instead, perhaps....
(this comes, safely, via her, which in turn was via Grayblog)

The End Of The Pop Single
I know it's old now, been busy, OK?
So, a Guardian article about the possible end of the pop single got me thinking....
I wouldn't miss singles too much.
Singles are an arse to sort out. We literally lose sleep over the choice of singles and the packaging they should appear in and all the other related nonsense. They cost lots of money to produce and they are - really - just to promote an album. In other words, their main use this days is for sending off to radio stations....and we can send off a box of CDs without having to actually release the bloody thing as a single (much like Radiohead did for the Kid A album )
The Guardian article does go all misty-eyed about the Good Old Days of 7"s and all that, but to be honest that's just simple nostalgia [I mean it is a Paul Morley piece, so I would expect that from him] - things move on, and I'm hoping we do eventually get to a point where singles aren't used in the form they are now.
And it might mean an end to having to watch TOTP and suffering bloody Daniel Beddingfield and Wayne Wonder and Evanescence and Fast Food Rockers and S Club 8 and JUNIOR SENIOR (sorry, had to re-edit this post as this weeks TOTP started, and shouts of "fuck heads!" filled the living room), well, all the other ones....you know who I'm talking about.....

Migration Frustration
Watching someone make this PC to Macintosh switch is both great and slightly annoying at the same time. All those little habits that Windows users pick up (out of, well, having to I suppose) just look really clunky when applied to the Mac (OS X especially)
We're almost having arguments about it, which isn't so good really.
Lots of interesting issues have come up though - one book we purchased for reference purposes (Switching To The Mac - The Missing Manual) is good - we heartily recommend it - another, namely Mac OS X For Windows Users is not so good, as it's rather selling the concept of The Switch to you as opposed to being any real help in doing so....
There'll be much more about this in future posts (just contain your excitement please) but we have discovered that www.pctomac.com is a wonderful place to look around at such times.
Oh, and transfering 25Gb of mp3s? Firewire Target Disk Mode on the iBook, plugging straight into the PC laptop via a cable, and a copy of MacDrive* is so the way to do it! (yes, we had hard disks mounted across the network etc using Samba and all that, but the firewire route is a no-brainer really if you've got the required port on the PC)
(*this is presuming that your PC has been formatted with NTFS, if it's still setup with FAT32 then you could do even easier things involving external firewire drives plugged straight into the Mac etc etc etc zzzzzz)

Cry No More Onion Fans
Now they've 'made' an onion that will make you cry less.
I can't work out if it's very clever or just completely odd that this is now possible - mind you, as it's not a GM trick, just applied knowledge of soil types and the like, I'm thinking it's a safe enough change from what we're used to...(although at 50p an onion this could make me poor real quick as I like them rather a lot)

Jingly Jangly
WTF?!?!?
"Good Vibes - The Jingly Jangly Sound Of Summer"
Someone actually thought that was a good tag line for an album?
Oh dear.
