I should post here more often....ummm, funny situation, got tons of stuff going on in my life which may well make interesting reading to the 5 people that know about this blog, but the lack of free time i have - because of all these interesting things going on - makes it tricky.a strange, and very 2003 i suppose, vicious circle. Pier Today, Gone Tomorrow...Oh, the last entry here was about the Palace Pier being on fire. And now this one is about the West Pier being on fire. I see a pattern developing.Perhaps I should register www.piersonfire.com or something....although at this rate, Brighton won't have any piers (on fire or otherwise) in a year or two!Anyway, that'll be the end of the West Pier then...you don't quite expect landmarks that have been there throughout your whole life to actually ever disappear, but I suppose they do. Current reporting is suggesting that the people behind the restoration project still think it can be saved. I have my doubts about that. The full pictures, if you should so want them, are here, as large (1mb or so) JPEGs. Posted by Simon Thornton, 11:59 AM, Comment< . . .
