As it's already been leaked out....
Yes, there's a big thing we're doing with David Byrne, the outline of which is described here. [page is broken in Explorer]
It's all a bit complicated, and actually quite a big deal - both in the sense of how much work it involves and the profile it could reach if things go well...
It'll keep myself and Norman busy 'til at least Christmas at this rate.

Bit by Bit...
OK, one thing I've done in the last few months is a remix (well, kind of a re-production really) of my old friend John Watts' new single "Birthday" (which has the lyrics "Oh La La La" in the chorus, which I dropped a hint about a while ago)...
It involved me playing bass on it, and even doing some little backing vocals. Which is a first.
Anyhoo, it's only around in Germany right now - he's quite big over there don't you know - but it might well make it's way over here at some point in the future. It's a good little tune.
And it made it to at least one playlist on a German (net) radio station, which is nice. These days, that ain't such a bad thing really (mind you so did my Tears For Fears remix, which was kind of odd as it was never supposed to be released as such!). In these days of labels often only releasing stuff online as mp3s etc it's increasing meaning that chart positions, and even hard sales, don't mean what they might have 5 years ago...
As I don't speak any German, I was interested to know what that little bit of blurb on that net radio page said, as ever Altavista's Babelfish came to the rescue, and the output was as amusing as ever....
"The concept for the new album "material life is good enough" carried JOHN of WATT already for a long time with itself around, before it went then finally to the realization. "I wanted above all energy purely and if possible in the abundance", say WATT, "and but had I the team on the most necessary to reduce. Therefore are only I and the Drummer to be heard now." The result is striking: So opulent and upsetting songs JOHN of the WATT sounded rare. "birthday" is the first single uncoupling, which became from SIMON THORNTON in best Brighton manners geremixed. An extremely fresh and maximuminteresting mixture!"
I love the phrase "maximuminteresting mixture", it's something I'm going to aim to achieve often from now on, whilst also trying to do everything "possible in the abundance", 'cos that sounds like fun!
