a few quick links and stuff

I've been moaning about the disappearance of the conventional record sleeve for ages. Partly, because people don't get to read credits anymore - and not being able to find out who does on a record by simply reading the packaging doesn't actually help a guy like me that much, in the sense of getting new work off the back of old. I also think back to when I was a teenager and wanting to get into music, reading all the blurb on a sleeve helped me learn about what was involved in getting a record 'out there'. It seems to me it's something that's just lost on the younger generation now....

So, in this vain, here's a link to an article in Digit Mag about sleeves and packaging in the mp3 era, which I first noticed due the fact it has quotes from Ed @ Red Design, who just happens to have done all the FBS artwork so far (give or take the odd little thing...)

And, in a real swerve, here's a link to a webcam inside a fluffy Garfield. Just cos.
