Titles Just watching the opening ceremony of the World Cup, and I notice one of the phrases they're using to describe the whole thing is "A Mutual Understanding"....that makes my choice of title for this blog almost ironically relevant...well, that would be a first for me.... @ 11:55 AM |

Odd Job I have a funny job. I make records for a living. Some of them have done well, extremely well in fact. There be a lot more about this in later entries. I thought I'd mention it now just to set the scene, so to speak. @ 11:16 PM |

Holiday I'm definitely not your typical 'holiday person' but, perhaps for the first time in my 31 years, I'm feeling like one would be nice. @ 10:34 PM |

'erbs Why do American's pronounce 'herb' as 'erb'? I realise there's a multitute of differences between American and English pronounciation, but this one does seem the strangest of all...why is the 'h' silent? 'House' isn't pronounced 'Ouse', 'Verbal' isn't pronounced 'Erbal' (well, I suppose when they're talking about Herbs it is!) so why pick on the humble herb? Strange.... @ 10:18 PM |

Buffy I don't mind admitting that I only started watching Buffy all those years ago because it's hard not to find Sarah Michelle Gellar fantastically cute. God, she is. But did the programme itself have to be so damn good? Yes, you can see most of the plot points coming a mile off (the series 6 finale I've just watched is a classic example of it....love wins the day again....) but it's so well written. Yet again the Americans show us how it's done. I've no interest in monsters, demons and all the other similar stuff that the show contains, but the 'relationships' aspect of it is capitivating. Well done, Mr Whedon @ 9:32 PM |

Experiment There could be a strange side-effect of doing this blog, which is simply that one of my bestest mates also has one (see the links), so on those not-often-enough times we get together or have a chat on the phone will the fact that we're both putting down some of our daily lives into these things mean we won't have as much to talk about? All those little bits and bobs you fill a two hour conversation with perhaps won't even need mentioning anymore...on the other hand it might mean the end to those funny 5 second silences that seem to appear occasionally....hmmmm.... @ 7:30 PM |

Sore throat I've had a sore throat now for a couple of weeks. They do say that if it lasts more than about a week you're supposed to go and see a Doctor person to have it looked at. Thing is, over the last couple of years I've had more 'looking at' at various bits of my body (mainly internal bits) than I'd really ever want so, just now, I'd rather ignore the dull pain. I think my body is turning against me... @ 7:12 PM |

Hello In case that subtitle sounds too depressing (or "depressed", even) I should explain that the fact that Myself and Life don't quite agree on many aspects of day-to-day living isn't, in itself, a problem. it's the working out if i should find it a problem that bothers me some. A problem about whether to have a problem? Welcome to A Mutual Misunderstanding.... @ 6:33 PM |
